Countdown timer
Set a time and start. Big numbers, a progress bar and a beep when time's up.
A simple full-screen countdown
Set a time, press Start, and the countdown fills the screen in big numbers with a progress bar along the bottom. When it reaches zero you'll hear three short beeps and see "Time's up!". Use it for classes and exams, presentations, workouts, cooking, games, or focused work sessions.
How to use it
- Pick a preset or type your own hours, minutes and seconds, then click Set.
- Press Start (or the Space bar). Press it again to pause, and R to reset.
- Click Full screen or press F so everyone can see it.
25-minute focus timer
A popular way to work in short bursts is 25 minutes of focus followed by a 5-minute break. Choose 25 min, start the timer and work until it beeps, then use 5 min for your break.
Countdown timer FAQ
Does the timer make a sound?
Yes: three short beeps when time is up. Make sure your volume is on. You can switch the sound off with the Sound button.
Can I share a timer or bookmark it?
Yes. The page address changes to match your time, for example trimswap.com/countdown-timer/#25m or #1h30m. Opening that link sets the timer for you.
Does it keep counting in another tab?
Yes. The timer counts against your device's clock, so it stays accurate even if you switch tabs. Some browsers slow down pages in background tabs, so the beep can come a little late if the timer tab isn't visible; keep it on screen when exact timing matters.
Will my screen stay on?
While the timer is running or in full screen, the page asks your device to keep the screen awake, which works in most modern browsers.
