The bouncing DVD screensaver, in your browser

Remember waiting for the bouncing logo on an old DVD player to hit the corner exactly? This is that screensaver for any screen: the logo drifts across a black background, changes color every time it bounces, and a counter keeps score of perfect corner hits. Great as a nostalgic screensaver, a background for streams and parties, or just something hypnotic to watch.

How to use it

  1. Pick a speed, or type your own text instead of "DVD" (up to 16 characters).
  2. Click Full screen or press F. The cursor hides after a few seconds.
  3. Wait for the corner. When it happens, you'll see CORNER! and the counter goes up.

DVD screensaver FAQ

Will it ever hit the corner?

Yes, eventually. How often depends on your screen's shape and size. We count a corner hit when the logo touches both edges at the same moment, or within 1% of the screen of doing so, which is about as close as the eye can tell.

Is this the official DVD logo?

No. It's a plain-text tribute to the classic screensaver, not the official logo artwork. You can type any text you like instead.

Can I leave it running?

Yes. Moving content is much gentler on screens than a still image, and the page asks your device to keep the screen awake in full screen. On OLED screens, avoid leaving any screen running for days at high brightness; see the disclaimer.
