How to get better light on video calls
- Turn your display brightness all the way up. The page can't go brighter than your screen allows.
- Face the screen. The light should hit your face from the front, a little above eye level if you can.
- Use a second screen as the light. Open this page on a spare monitor, tablet or phone next to your camera, and keep your call on the main screen.
- Dim the light behind you. A bright window or lamp behind you makes your face look dark on camera.
Warm or cool?
Warm light (orange-ish) is flattering and cozy, and matches ordinary indoor bulbs. Cool light (blue-ish white) looks crisp, like daylight, and matches a window. If your face looks orange or blue on camera, move the warmth slider the other way until skin tones look natural.
